Which ports are required by Coffalyser.Net for communication?

in Requirements
  • Coffalyser.Net

Coffalyser.Net uses TCP and UDP port 1231 for communication between the different components of Coffalyser.Net. Communication via this port must be available within your network in order to connect to a Coffalyser.Net server service hosted elsewhere on your network. If you experience connection issues, you (or your IT department) may need to modify your network security settings. TCP port 1231 is used for communication between the client applications (the end-user applications) and the server services, and UDP port 1231 is used for automatic server service discovery.

For more information about the components of Coffalyser.Net and the way these may be organised within your network, see this article. More information about troubleshooting connection issues between client applications and server services can be found in this article.

Communication between your installation and MRC Holland's servers is not required, but does have several benefits:

  • It allows licenses to be downloaded and renewed from within the software.
  • It allows sheet library updates from within the software.
  • It allows retrieving additional information about some common errors from our servers.

All communication with our servers goes via port 80 to a single domain:

Note
No experimental or user data is shared with MRC Holland in communication with our servers. We have no way to access your data, also not when you enable communication with our servers.
