No, it is not possible to use SALSA MLPA probes on non-human derived DNA. It is very likely that one or more mismatches exist in other organisms. These mismatches are likely to disrupt the probe’s ligation or its hybridization to the sample DNA.
It is possible for you to use the MLPA technique on DNA derived from other organisms. However, you would need to design your own MLPA probes (see our guide for synthetic probe design), and we cannot offer further support.
