Improvements

Main improvements

  • Updated preconfigured Microsoft SQL Server from 2014 SP3 to 2022. SQL Server 2014 SP3 will no longer be supported by Microsoft after 09 July 2024, and is not officially supported on Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022. Updating SQL Server before this date is strongly recommended to avoid compatibility and security issues.
  • Adjusted system requirements: Coffalyser.Net still supports 32-bit operating systems, but SQL Server 2022 does not. View all system requirements.

Other improvements and changes

  • Removed the ability to upgrade a preconfigured SQL Server from 2008 R2 to 2014 SP3 (SQL Server 2008 R2 has been out of support by Microsoft since 2019, and preconfigured servers were updated to 2014 SP3 starting with Coffalyser.Net v.210226.1433, released in 2021). Contact us if you need to perform this update for a preconfigured server and require assistance.
  • Added the new orange Coffalyser.Net server status database requires upgrade to ensure that the Coffalyser.Net database is always up to date. Read more about server colours and statuses.
  • Improved error handling if a Coffalyser.Net server is unavailable during the login process.
  • Improved display of information when an unknown error is encountered.
  • Improved error information accessible via the Copy to Clipboard button of error dialogs to facilitate more specific technical support.
  • Added a warning to the Configuration Wizard for the use of an SQL Server version with an end-of-support date less than a year in the future.
  • Added a warning to the login process for the use of an SQL Server version with an end-of-support date less than 60 days in the future.

  • Replaced remaining references to www.mlpa.com with references to www.mrcholland.com.
